Dear Friends,
As November is looming fast, this is a reminder to register NOW for the Rhodesian-Zimbabwean World-wide Reunion being held in Durban from the 6 - 13 November 2005. The reunion is all about friends getting around and seeing each other once again and we are aiming for a great “Friendship Week” with as many Rhodesians-Zimbabweans as possible.
Yesterday I was reminded of how important friends are: An old school friend and his family were out from the UK for her mother's 80 th birthday. A group of old friends got together with this family for lunch and we immediately clicked. It felt like we had only met the day before and not a few years ago. As I was talking to them, I was reminded about how rich a life we had shared together both at school, on the sports field and socially as our families had grown up. How important it is to have special friends who care and how much they have enriched my and my family's life.
At this same gathering was another friend from school. He thought the reunion was a great idea but had not replied because he did not know what he was doing in November. I then told him to think seriously about booking for the dinner because we had to know well in advance of the date and that if he did not do so, it was very possible that he would be disappointed and miss out on this reunion. I told him that obviously, if he gave us sufficient time we were confident that we could sell his dinner ticket because there would obviously be some late comers. However this number could not be substantial and
we need everyone who is thinking of coming to register soon.
So I pose this question…
Have you booked for the reunion? If you have not, you may miss out and we will not be able to see you at our Gala dinner! Sure you can attend all the other events but the dinner will be magnificent and something that you all MUST NOT MISS .
If you make it to one event during the week make it the Gala dinner
At only R235.00 per person , we need to know well in advance of the numbers so that the necessary arrangements can be made .
